Mr. Carlos is a true HERO! Each morning, he uses music, dancing and positive vibes to energize our students. Our Roadrunners look forward to seeing him everyday. He participates in ALL our dress-up fun days and knows the majority of students by their first name. In the fall, one of our Roadrunners wasn’t making the best choices and Mr. Carlos found out that he loves baseball, but never owned a glove. Mr. Carlos taught him about baseball, famous heroes from his country, showed him catching techniques during lunch and actually ending up purchasing a glove for him! Of course the child’s behavior improved and his parents were shocked by the amount of love and support shown by our very own lunch Hero! Mr. Carlos makes friend for life at Hagen! Last week, a fifth grade child was choking in the cafeteria. Mr. Carlos ran over and assisted him with dislodging the food from his airpipe. The cafeteria erupted with applause, but Mr. Carlos was so humble…he began to applaud as well – in honor of the child’s well being. The parents, our nurse and schools were overwhelmed with his gesture of safety. This kind of Heroism happens everyday at Hagen! We are so thankful for our Cafe Crew, but Mr. Carlos stands out above all others!
